About me

Dr Jo Carlile

I am a Charted Clinical Psychologist with experience working in the NHS and private sector. I trained at University College London (UCL) where I received a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS)

I worked in the NHS for 10 years, supporting children, families and adults presenting with a variety of issues - all needing support to improve their mental well being. As a Clinical Psychologist I am trained to support individuals who are struggling to function in their daily lives and/or are experiencing high levels of distress. This may include low mood, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, obsessive thinking and behaviour, adjustment difficulties and other challenges which might be leading to feeling strong emotions which feel difficult to manage.

My specialist areas include:

  • Neurodiversity (ADHD & Autism)

  • Supporting Entrepreneurs to thrive

  • Trauma healing

  • Workplace adjustments & business ND development

What others say

Thank you to Jo for helping me ease my anxiety and nervousness around flying. She really opened up my mind to what was causing the worries I had and simplified the problems using really clever but eye opening scenarios, making them easy to understand and put into practice. ”

I came to Jo suffering from anxiety and depression. Through our sessions Jo equipped me with practical tools and techniques, pushing me to question my own thought process. It was through these methods I was able to move forward with my life and, as I can be affected by mental health from to time to time. I still use the techniques Jo taught me to help myself years later.”
